Note 1: The first edition states on the publication data page ‘First Evergreen Edition 1975’. There is no impression number line and no reference to a subsequent printing. The list of Grove Press plays on the verso of page 105 includes Jumpers which was published by Grove in 1974 with the reference number E-626. Later editions refer to a later printing, e.g. ‘Second Printing 1977’, or have an impression number line such as ’10 9 8’ for the eighth impression. Also, on later printings the list of Grove Press plays on the verso of page 105 includes Travesties which was published by Grove in 1975 with the reference number E-661, i.e. after E-659.

Note 2: At some time between 1975 and 1977 Grove Press changed the reference numbers for their Evergreen publications, hence the reason the reprints have E-489 rather than the E-659 of the first edition.

Note 1: On the publication data page it states ‘First Evergreen Edition 1975’ and underneath an impression line ’10 9 8’. Considering the fifth printing has been dated to 1980 this eight printing must be a few years after that.
