Note: this variant is exactly the same as the standard first edition except that the page edges are sprayed pink. It appears these are signed copies sold at Waterstone’s stores but this has not been confirmed.

Slipcase. Pale green cloth edges with green and blue patterned paper on the sides.

  1. Green and blue patterned boards quarter bound in dark blue leather; down spine in gilt: ‘NUTSHELL  IAN McEWAN  (LRB logo)’. Seventy five copies hand-numbered 1-75 and signed by Ian McEwan.
  2. Full bound in dark blue leather; down spine in gilt: ‘NUTSHELL  IAN McEWAN  (LRB logo)’. Twenty five copies hand-numbered i to xxv and signed by Ian McEwan. Together with, in a separate volume, the short story ‘My Purple Scented Novel’ quarter bound in dark blue leather with green and blue patterned boards. The latter was the first UK publication of this short story.
