Note 1: The true UK first edition was published as a companion volume to the full leather bound edition of Nutshell published by the London Review Bookshop – see Nutshell for details. Only 25 copies were produced.

Note 2: This short story was inspired by “L’Image Volee”, an exhibition by Thomas Demand at Fondazione Prada in Milan. The story by Ian McEwan appeared in the book of the exhibition.

Note 3: The story was also published in the 28^th March 2016 edition of The New Yorker.
